The first ever pre-marriage meet in Kerala for the physically-challenged was held on December 3rd, 2005 at the the EMS Memorial Town Hall at Kochi. More than 500 candidates from all over the state and outside Kerala participated in the event organized by the Prathyasha Foundation. Over five thousand people witnessed the event.
Marriage of handicapped persons is always a social issue. Prathyasha proposes to take the initiative for the marriage of physically-challenged girls belonging to poor families in the future. The organization is in the process of seeking sponsors for this from organizations and individuals. |
